Round the Mountain - Artisan Network

Now that summer is approaching you may be planning some easy day trips throughout SW Virginia. Why not begin at the Bower Center, then head out on an Artisan Trail. Check out http://www.roundthemountain.org/ This site links the traveler with different artisan studios, galleries, venues, farms to visit, and other points of interest all within a day's drive. Art is right here on
N. Bridge Street in Bedford, but is waiting for you around every corner!

FALL CLASSES - WORKSHOPS

Our Fall classes are now in full swing with several more ready for November. Here's just a sampling of what the Bower is working on to offer you in the months to come: Fiber Art, Pottery, Painting, Jewelry Making, Creative
Writing, Digital Photography and Editing.

A Successful Summer -

The Summer Arts and Nature Camps this past June were a complete success. The students participated in a variety of art and music programs. These programs were linked with the 21st Century Arts Enrichment Program and in
collaboration with the Lynchburg College's Claytor Nature Study Center in Bedford. Later this year a mural incorporating mosaic and clay tiles made by our summer arts students will be placed on permanent display at the Bower Center. A special thank you to Lauren Mason, Kari Saxton, and Sylvia Tickle, our three interns who assisted with classes. And a special shout out to all our students who made some fantastic art and the program such a great success!
