Concert Pianist Baron Fenwick is only 16 yrs. old but has been playing
the piano since he was six. In 2009 he was chosen to be the recipient
of the first annual Leonard Bernstein Excellance Award at UNCSA.
Also in 2009, Baron won first prize at the North Carolina Symphony
Concerto competition in the senior division. His other accomplishcoments include unveiling the new $1.3 million dollar Kuhn-Bosendorfer at the N.C.
Governors Mansion, leading off with Procofeiv's 3rd Concerto. In 2010
Baron played with the South Carolina Philharmonic in Charlotte.
Baron has traveled throughout the U.S and Switzerland and has performed
in master classes along with a list of renowned instrumentalists.
This evening, Baron has chosen a wonderful repetoire to perform for us
at the Bower Center.
Baron's performance tonight is a free concert and is open to the public.

The Wharton Memorial Foundation Bower Center for the Arts is a non-profit organization located in historic downtown Bedford,Va. at the base of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. The Bower Center serves the greater Bedford community by promoting artistic and cultural activities and provides education in the arts. In addition the Wharton Memorial Foundation preserves two historical Virgina landmarks and maintains the Wharton Memorial Garden.
